Edie, I couldn't find an email address to reply to your comment about the song, so I decided to reply here--the thing is, not everyone interprets the song as you did; that's why it's such a conundrum. Most people don't think she' laughing at God. They're just trying to synthesize the whole thing. It's interesting to see on the blog how many different takes people have on the song. But the point of the post wasn't really the meaning of the song; it was supposed to make the illustration that many people feel ambivalent about Jesus. At least they're thinking about Him, though.
